About EVCC Junior Cricket
Elham Valley Cricket Club is a village cricket club with a long history, and a strong base in the local community. We cater for all age groups and skill levels from 5-15 years old, and all-comers from near and far. With a strong, experienced and dedicated coaching team and a dynamic group on non-cricketing supporters. We can truly say that we provide a relaxed, friendly, safe, inclusive and competitive setting for any young cricketer, whatever their ambition.
The Club holds Clubmark status, meaning the the ECB have vetted the club and proven it to be run safely and efficiently for younger players. We will be going through the reaccritation process in 2018. All adults in contact with younger players are DBS checked. We have an experienced club welfare officer who oversees the welfare of our younger members.
We hold Saturday morning coaching up at the ground during the season, we have multiple age groups training available:
We're involved in All Stars cricket. This is cricket aimed at children aged 5-8.
We also are involved in the Dynamos which is cricket aimed at 8-11. This takes place Saturday morning 9:30 - 11.
We also run hard ball cricket for 11 and above on Saturday morning as well
Parents are welcome to stay enjoy the tranquillity and views whilst watching. On as many Saturdays as we can we supply tea, coffee and other refreshments at a reasonable price.
Running competitive sides at u-9, 11, 13 and 15 age groups, we have enjoyed continuing success in the Saxon Shore League, have provided, in recent years, the backbone to the Shepway District u-10, 12 and 14 sides and regularly contribute a number of high-performing cricketers to the county Colts system. Those passing out of the u-15 bracket can hope to play in our Feeder League side and in our men’s Village League side.
